Syncrude Aurora’s Train 2 began operation in late 2003. North American Construction Group’s (NACG’s) role in this project included the installation of all underground utilities, site grading, materials handling and mine preparation earthworks. In addition, NACG handled the construction management of the structural concrete subcontractors. This project was performed as an Alliance partnership with a risk/reward program based on the total project cost, which included owners, engineers and all contractors’ costs.
