North American Construction Group (NACG) is currently completing the construction of a 160 kilometre, 36” diameter NEB regulated pipeline running from Hinton, Alberta to Jackman, BC. The pipeline runs through Jasper National Park and Mount Robson Provincial Park which are designated UNESCO World Heritage sites. NACG construction crews had to deal with challenging mountain terrain, extremely narrow “right-of-ways”, over 125 environmentally sensitive river crossings and significant wildlife activity. To date, pipeline construction has been completed on time, without environmental incident and under the watchful eye of the National Energy Board, Parks Canada, Department of Fisheries and the Ministry of Transportation. Internal and external audits have been completed to ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements and safety requirements. The Alberta portion of this project was completed seven months ahead of schedule. This enabled Kinder Morgan to transport oil and generate revenue well in advance of the anticipated target date.
